About the role

Provide professional medical services as part of an integrated, trauma-informed primary health care team. Collaborate with and supervise advanced practice nurses, physician assistants, and medical support staff.

PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIAN Part Time- 10 to 29 hours weekly Are you passionate about helping the underserved?

Western North Carolina Community Health Services (WNCCHS) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC).

WNCCHS delivers patient care with a highly integrated team of family medicine practitioners, dentists, and behavioral health clinicians with on-site pharmacy services in a community health center setting.

We are looking for Primary Care Physician Part Time to provide professional medical services to complement the delivery of integrated team-based, whole-person, trauma-informed primary health care services.

They would be at our Minnie Jones Health Center for 10 to 29 hours weekly.

We offer flexible schedules Monday through Friday from 7 am to 6 pm.

The Physician effectively collaborates with, and delegates to members of the interdisciplinary health care team and provides clinical leadership and supervision to advanced practice nurses (APN) & physician assistants (PA), and indirect supervision of medical support staff.

Qualifications

Education and Training:

  • Graduation from an accredited school of medicine with a degree of Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy is required. Completion of residency from an accredited program

Certifications/Licensure

  • Current unrestricted North Carolina MD or DO licensure, DEA and BLS are required
  • Must be Medicaid and Medicare eligible
  • Board Certification is preferred
  • AAHIVM Certification is preferred

Experience

  • Must have or be able to obtain admitting privileges to the local hospital
  • Previous medical office or FQHC experience is preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Knowledgeable about current standards, methods, and procedures for the delivery of evidence-based care in an efficient, organized, and accurate manner
  • Have collaboration and teamwork skills to work efficiently with others to provide new ideas and help inspire staff and management
  • Flexibility to work with a variety of people differing in ages, personalities, and backgrounds.
  • Demonstrates leadership, teaching, and evaluation skills

Additional skills preferred

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish and/or Russian
  • Experience in public health

Requirements
