Veterinary Oncologist (DVM, DACVIM-Oncology)

The Opportunity Cladda is seeking a board-certified (or board-eligible) Veterinary Oncologist to join our specialty team. This is a chance to build and shape an oncology service within a supportive, well-equipped emergency and specialty hospital — working alongside emergency clinicians and other specialty services to deliver high-quality, coordinated cancer care.

What You'll Do Manage a caseload of oncology patients, including diagnosis, staging, and treatment planning for solid tumors and hematologic malignancies Administer and oversee chemotherapy protocols, and coordinate with surgery, internal medicine, and radiology on multimodal treatment plans Perform and interpret relevant diagnostics (cytology, biopsy planning, staging imaging) Collaborate closely with our emergency team on shared and transferred cases Build and mentor a technical support team dedicated to oncology, including chemotherapy safety protocols Serve as a resource for referring veterinarians and support client communication around diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment options Contribute to case rounds, mentorship of emergency clinicians, and ongoing development of hospital protocols

What We're Looking For DVM/VMD (or equivalent) with completion of an accredited medical oncology residency Board certification with the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, Oncology specialty (DACVIM-Oncology) preferred; board-eligible candidates encouraged to apply Strong clinical, communication, and collaborative skills A team-oriented approach and interest in helping grow a new or developing specialty service Active or eligible veterinary license in Virginia

Requirements
