Veterinary Neurologist (DVM, DACVIM-Neurology) The Opportunity Cladda is seeking a board-certified (or board-eligible) Veterinary Neurologist to join our specialty team.
This is a chance to build and shape a neurology/neurosurgery service within a supportive, well-equipped emergency and specialty hospital — working alongside emergency clinicians and other specialty services to deliver high-quality, coordinated patient care.
What You'll Do Manage a caseload of neurologic and neurosurgical patients, including seizure disorders, intervertebral disc disease, spinal trauma, and peripheral and central nervous system disease Perform and interpret advanced diagnostics (MRI, CT, CSF analysis, EMG) and neurosurgical procedures Collaborate closely with our emergency team on shared and transferred cases, and with other specialty services on multidisciplinary cases Build and mentor a technical support team dedicated to neurology, including perioperative and critical care protocols Serve as a resource for referring veterinarians and support client communication around diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment options Contribute to case rounds, mentorship of emergency clinicians, and ongoing development of hospital protocols What We're Looking For DVM/VMD (or equivalent) with completion of an accredited neurology/neurosurgery residency Board certification with the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, Neurology specialty (DACVIM-Neurology) preferred; board-eligible candidates encouraged to apply Strong clinical, communication, and collaborative skills A team-oriented approach and interest in helping grow a new or developing specialty service Active or eligible veterinary license in Virginia What Cladda Offers Competitive compensation Support to build a specialty service with input into equipment, protocols, and team structure Access to a 24-hour emergency and specialty hospital infrastructure, including advanced diagnostic and monitoring equipment A collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment Relocation assistance available Full benefits package (health insurance, dental, vision, STD, LTD, 4 weeks PTO, generous CE allowance, license/dues reimbursement, retirement plan with match — further details shared during the interview process) Location Fredericksburg, VA — convenient to Richmond, Washington D.C., and Northern Virginia, with easy access to the Blue Ridge Mountains, Chesapeake Bay, and a growing, family-friendly community.
