The role provides patient care, technical, and clerical support within the Dermatology and Sleep Medicine specialty clinics. Responsibilities include assisting providers and RNs while addressing the psychosocial needs of patients and families.

This position will support our Specialty Clinic in both Dermatology and Sleep Medicine.

The Certified Medical Assistant/ LPN is responsible for a variety of patient care, technical, and clerical related functions in the ambulatory setting. The Certified Medical Assistant is responsible for clinic patient care as directed by the Provider or RN. This individual may also be involved in the training and guidance of clinical staff. As a member of the patient care team, the Certified Medical Assistant is also aware of the psychosocial needs of patients and families.
Frequently sits while performing the tasks of the role (scheduling, developing & reviewing protocols/procedures, job descriptions, etc.) Occasionally walk and stand. Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds while transferring and positioning patients and maneuvering equipment while using gait belts, transfer devices, etc. Occasionally bend to the floor, squat, kneel, crouch and reach overhead to assist with patient care or retrieve equipment or supplies. Occasionally handle objects, smell, feel, control knobs, switches and levers.
Occasionally use sight capacities, including spatial, peripheral, colors & accommodation & depth perception. Frequently use near and far vision while reviewing patient records, computer screens, charts, gauges on patient equipment, monitors, etc.

Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant or LPN program with the corresponding certification or state licensure. BLS certification is required for both roles, and LPNs must have completed a pharmacology course.
