About the role

The tester provides HIV, STI, and HCV testing through individual outreach and community events. They are responsible for providing pre- and post-test counseling, managing referrals for PrEP/PEP and iART, and maintaining client records in the AWARDS database.

Job Summary

The HUB Infectious disease Tester will provide individual client outreach and in-reach, outreach to community organizations, HIV/STI/HEPC testing, linkages for PrEP/PEP, access to iART for clients testing HIV+, and establish HUB client records in AWARDS data base.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to

  • Conduct HIV and HCV testing on site and in the field (during outreach and or community health fairs).
  • Ability to communicate effectively with participants before and after HIV or HCV test.
  • Attend all trainings and webinars required in order to provide PrEP and PEP education and referrals when engaging participants.
  • Engage participant in harm reduction and risk reduction educational sessions, as well as provide pre and post counseling.
  • Ability to go out to required field sites, during all seasons, to provide mobile testing to the community.
  • Maintain and track all referrals (internal and external).
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times and appropriate record keeping
  • Enter data into AWARDS
  • Attend community events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Criteria

  • Experience conducting infectious disease testing (HIV/HCV).
  • At least 2 years of experience testing target population (women, homeless & people who inject drugs).
  • Familiar with Harm reduction practices.

Education

  • Minimum of a BA in Social Work or Community Health Education or related degree.
  • Or Associate degree with 2 year experience

Pay Rate

$27.4725 ph non exempt
