About the role

Collaborate with Board-Certified Oncologists to manage complex cases and safely administer chemotherapy treatments. Perform technical nursing tasks including venipuncture, medical record preparation, and assisting with imaging and sedation.

Veterinary Technician, Oncology Location

  • Schedule: Full Time | 4 Ten Hour Shifts Per Week | No Weekends Starting at $24+/hr for Credentialed Veterinary Technicians (CVTs) and $21+/hr for experienced Veterinary Assistants, based on experience.

In your day-to-day, you will: Work closely with Board-Certified Oncologists to manage complex cases and administer life-saving treatments Understand the safety protocols for safe administration of chemotherapy.

Set up chemotherapy procedures, and perform chemotherapy administration.

Assist in facilitation of imaging and sedation for minor medical procedures.

Retrieve and prepare medical records in advance of patient visits.

Acquire complete medical history and assist with treatment recommendations provided by Oncologist.

Perform all types of venipuncture for all types of blood work and carry out treatment orders to patients.

Complete estimates, basic record keeping, and update patient charges Other duties as needed What You Bring: CVTs will be given the highest consideration Minimum of 3 years of technical experience Preferred: 1+ years of veterinary oncology experience Strong interest in oncology and keen ability to apply knowledge and advance quickly.

Technical skill set such as restraint, phlebotomy, catheter placement and general nursing care experience is needed.
