  • Nurse (LPN) to work 8:00am - 4:30pm at our Oneida Health Family Care office. The LPN in the Practice Setting is responsible for providing high quality care to patients to assure exceptional patient care experiences both safely and efficiently. *Hourly range: $23-$29.21/hour commensurate with experience

  • Responsibilities: Rooms patients, obtains and documents chief compliant, vital signs, height, weight, allergies and reconciles medications. Ensures results of referrals are available on chart. Assists provider (MD, PA, and NP) with procedures and examinations. Ensures appropriate documents are signed by all parties. Attends to needs of patients and visitors. Reassures patients and answer questions as necessary. Follows procedure for authorized medication administration and documentation. Performs treatments and procedures as directed, which are within the individual’s scope and training including administering injectable medications. Assures patients are seen in an orderly and fair manner, and that delays and waiting times are communicated to other members of the team as well as patients. Acutely ill patients are given priority at all times. Maintains medical record including ensuring all related reports, labs and information is filed/scanned and available in patients’ medical records prior to their appointment Completes routine equipment checks and stocks supplies in all exam and treatment rooms. Places orders as necessary from Central Supply and Pharmacy. Participates in routine exam room cleaning. Facilitates and executes physician orders in conjunction with patient needs and insurance requirements, scheduling exams and tests as appropriate and preparing necessary prescriptions and/or instructions for use by other allied health professionals in a timely manner. Coordinates and schedules referrals/surgeries with other physician specialists as well as Imaging and other medical tests. Ensures appropriate follow-up is arranged for patients. When necessary, acts as receptionist, performs secretarial duties, and discusses insurance claims with insurance companies in an effort pre-certify and/or meet pre-authorization restrictions. In the event of an anaphylactic reaction or Code Blue is able to assist provider (MD PA, or NP) with resuscitation and CPR if needed. Ensures Code procedure is followed and documented appropriately.

  • Requirements: Ability to lift objects weighing 45 pounds or over. Skill in carrying heavy items weighing 45 pounds or over. Demonstrated ability to pull objects as required. Competence in pushing objects as needed. Capability to reach above shoulder level to accomplish tasks. Proficient in performing tasks requiring hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills. Ability to walk for approximately 3.5 hours per day during work shifts. Capacity to stand for approximately 2.5 hours per day to fulfill job duties. Competence in sitting for approximately 2 hours per day during breaks or administrative tasks. Capability to kneel as necessary to complete job requirements. Proficiency in performing repeated bending motions as needed. Ability to operate motor vehicles.

Requirements

Requires a High School Diploma and graduation from a Licensed Practical Nurse program registered by the New York State Education Department. Must hold current BLS/ACLS certifications and be capable of meeting specific physical demands, including lifting 45 pounds.
