About the role

The associate manages discharge processing, including the retrieval, scanning, and indexing of medical records. They also maintain throughput statistics and coordinate with nursing staff to ensure accurate record management.

Job Description

Performs all tasks related to discharge processing and document prepping, scanning and indexing. Interacts with nursing and support staff throughout the hospital.

Job Responsibility

  • 1.Retrieves the medical records of discharged patients from the nursing units on a daily basis.
  • 2.Utilizing specialized knowledge, reconciles records against discharge reports and identifies any outstanding cases.
  • 3.Exercises independent judgement by following up and escalating any cases that were not received.
  • 4.Reviews and releases all documents that have been scanned and indexed by the ED unit ambassadors.
  • 5.Prepares, scans and indexes OBS Check Call cases and late filing received from the nursing units.
  • 6.Maintains inpatient and ASU throughput statistics.
  • 7.Prepares scanned medical records and loose filing for shipment to off-site storage when needed.
  • 8.Answers, screens, and routes telephone calls.Takes and delivers messages.
  • Elevates questions, problems and significant challenges to more senior team members for direction.
  • 9.Ensures timely and accurate performance of responsibilities; produces quality results.
  • 10.Performs related duties as required.

Job Qualification
