The Maples is in search of a Licensed Vocational Nurse for Day, Night, or PRN shifts to become a part of our team, providing support to The Maples Clinic located in Fort Worth, Texas.

What does the Licensed Nurse do? (including but not limited to)

As a Licensed Vocational Nurse, you are responsible for providing basic patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse, including taking vital signs, administering medications, preparing patients for exams, collecting specimens, assisting with procedures, educating patients on self-care, and documenting patient information thoroughly; all while maintaining clear communication with the healthcare team and patients.

Responsibilities

  • Essential duties and responsibilities (including but not limited to)
  • Participates in the planning, coordinating, and documenting of total patient care in conjunction with the multidisciplinary treatment team
  • Accurately reports and records the client’s condition and care, including signs and symptoms which may be indicative of change
  • Accurately monitor skin assessments with proper documentation and reporting of changes
  • Completes, maintains, and documents accurate and relevant clinical notes
  • Ensures timely and accurate clinical documentation for all nursing clinical services provided
  • Participation in education, in-services, and other training and meetings as needed
  • Facilitates appropriate nursing action(s) in response to administrative directives and a changing healthcare environment
  • Ensures all MD orders are followed and documented accordingly during the assigned shift
  • Manages medication administration, monitoring, and proper storage of medication and complies with all medication management policies and procedures

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Must have active Licensed Vocational Nurse in the state of Texas.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience as an LVN, experience in behavioral health care preferred
  • Certification in Basic Life Support
  • Certification in non-violent crisis intervention

Requirements

Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing school with an active LVN license in Texas and at least one year of experience. Required certifications include Basic Life Support and non-violent crisis intervention.
