Job Description

As part of the unit based team, this position is responsible for providing direct and indirect care to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department Key Responsibilities: In addition to providing clinical care for patients, this position also rotates to oversee the patients and families in ED waiting area; providing assistance to patients’ upon arrival, assisting the triage RN in identifying medical necessity, supporting and providing information to patients, families and staff.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent. Ability to communicate clearly with patients, guests, and co-workers in English both verbally and in writing. Exceptional people skills and an ability to function in a calm manner in stressful situations Has the ability to adapt, prioritize, and function in a fast paced, constantly changing environment. License/Certification/Registration Requirements National Registered Paramedic - National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians, OR Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians OR proof of current completion of 2 semesters in an accredited Registered Nursing Program. Basic Lifesaving Certification - American Heart Association. Ages of Patients Served This position is responsible for the care of neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. This is a general description of the nature and level of work performed by people in this classification. It may not include every responsibility, duty and skill required of persons who successfully do this job.

Salary Range

$38.49 - $48.66 USD Hour The Physical Requirements and Working Conditions of this job are available. Requirements

Requires a high school diploma and certification as a Paramedic or EMT, or completion of two semesters in an accredited nursing program. Must hold a Basic Lifesaving Certification from the American Heart Association.
