Job Description

The El Camino Hospital Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) Internship provides a California State and National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science (NAACLS) approved clinical rotation training program. The internship provides one-on-on instruction where the intern/trainee will: - Learn theories and principles of laboratory medicine - Acquire techniques to perform diagnostic procedures and operate sophisticated instrumentation, relate the clinical significance of laboratory procedures to patient diagnosis and treatment. - Utilize principles and practices of quality assurance. - Develop skills in communication, problem solving, educational methods, research and management related to a clinical laboratory. - Engage in a dynamic clinical environment, further developing professional behaviors.QUALIFICATIONS:Education and Experience:1. .2. Accepted into an affiliated NAACLS approved University CLS Program.3. Valid California trainee license for Clinical Laboratory Scientist.4. Previous work experience preferred, but not required.

Availability

1. Must be available to work M-F (depending on University academic requirements). 2.

Will be expected to work 2 weeks on the

PM shift from 3:00pm to 11:30pm.

Salary Range

$23.00 - $23.00 USD Hour The Physical Requirements and Working Conditions of this job are available. Applicants must be accepted into a NAACLS approved University CLS Program and hold a valid California trainee license. Availability for Monday through Friday shifts, including a two-week PM rotation, is required.
