Position Summary

Texas Regional Physicians is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Interventional Pain Management Physician to join our growing practice in Houston, Texas. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of acute and chronic pain conditions utilizing evidence-based, multidisciplinary, and interventional approaches. The physician will evaluate patients with musculoskeletal, spine, neuropathic, and other chronic pain disorders while developing individualized treatment plans designed to improve function, reduce pain, and enhance quality of life. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside orthopedic surgeons, spine specialists, physical medicine physicians, advanced practice providers, and rehabilitation professionals within an integrated, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with acute and chronic pain conditions.

Develop individualized treatment plans utilizing multimodal pain management strategies.

Perform fluoroscopic and ultrasound-guided interventional pain procedures, including: Epidural Steroid Injections Facet Joint Injections Medial Branch Blocks Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) Sacroiliac Joint Injections Peripheral Joint Injections Trigger Point Injections Spinal Cord Stimulator Trials and Implant Management Intrathecal Pain Pump Management (preferred) Interpret diagnostic imaging studies, including MRI, CT, X-ray, and electrodiagnostic testing when applicable.

Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons, neurosurgeons, physical therapists, neurologists, behavioral health professionals, and primary care providers to coordinate comprehensive patient care.

Educate patients regarding treatment options, procedural risks, expected outcomes, medication management, and lifestyle modifications.

Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans based on clinical outcomes.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).

Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with TRP clinical protocols and regulatory requirements.

Maintain hospital and ambulatory surgery center privileges as required.

Requirements

Qualifications

Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) from an accredited medical school. Completion of an accredited residency in Anesthesiology, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R), Neurology, or another qualifying specialty. Completion of an accredited ACGME Pain Medicine Fellowship. Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pain Medicine. Active, unrestricted Texas Medical License (or eligibility to obtain prior to employment). Current DEA Registration. Eligibility for credentialing and privileges at TRP-affiliated hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers. Current BLS and ACLS certifications. Preferred Experience Experience performing a broad range of fluoroscopic and ultrasound-guided interventional pain procedures. Experience with neuromodulation, including spinal cord stimulation and intrathecal pain therapies. Strong understanding of evidence-based pain management and responsible opioid stewardship. Excellent procedural, diagnostic, and communication skills. Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.
