Job Description

IVI RMA North America has a Certified Medical Assistant for Triangle MSO/UNC Fertility in our Raleigh clinic. This is a full-time role with hours 7am-4:30pm Monday through Friday with rotating weekend coverage as needed.

Job summary

The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) plays a vital role in guiding patients through their fertility treatment journey with compassion, clinical expertise, and attention to detail. This role involves assisting with clinical procedures, patient intake, documentation, and administrative tasks to ensure a seamless and positive patient experience and optimal outcomes.

Essential functions and accountabilities

Clinical support

Assist providers during examinations, treatments, and procedures.

Practice phlebotomy and collect specimens for in-house and external labs.

Accurately document ultrasound measurements and provider comments using appropriate templates.

Review patient records for routine health screenings.

Provide patients with information and reassurance before, during, and after procedures.

Patient intake & documentation

  • Perform rooming and intake processes, including collecting vital signs, height, weight, and reason for visit.
  • Document all patient interactions and procedures accurately in the electronic medical record.

Room & equipment maintenance

Clean and sterilize exam rooms and equipment per protocol.

Set up and stock examination and procedure rooms.

Maintain inventory of clinical supplies and manage ordering as needed.

Administrative duties

  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with HIPAA.
  • Participates in the education and training of other CMAs. Mentor peers. Promotes a collaborative and productive environment both intra-departmentally as well as inter-departmentally.
  • Participate in clinic-based quality and safety initiatives.

Academic Training and Certifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Completion of a Medical Assisting program accredited by either the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accreditation Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) is strongly preferred but not required.

Requires Medical Assistant certification by either the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Health Career Association (CCMA), National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA), or National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA).

Basic Life Support Certification from American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) required.
