The Advanced Practice Provider I is responsible for assessing patient needs and assisting in the implementation of patient care under the direction of the department Medical Director and department Nurse Director or supervising physician.
Education and Experience
Graduated from an accredited school of nursing. Current Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) STATUS IN Texas required through the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners.
+1 year of related experience OR
Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program. Current Physician Assistant license through the Texas Physician Assistant Board of the Texas Medical Board
+1 year of related experience ER/Urgent Care or Family Medicine.
Interaction with Other Departments and Other Relationships This position requires close interaction with the medical staff, nursing staff and ancillary areas in order to maintain a quality multi-disciplinary approach to care of the critically ill patient.
Physical Capabilities Work of medium demand; walking, sitting, and standing most of the time while on duty. Adequate hand/eye coordination and fine motor skills required. Talking and hearing are essential in meeting with people. Visual acuity and writing skills necessary for factual documentation.
Environmental/Working Conditions This position is mostly subject to inside environmental conditions, however, may be required to be outdoors occasionally. Occasionally, may require work with chemical hazards (i.e., sprays, mists, vapors and fumes). Hours may be long and irregular. Candidates must be a licensed Advanced Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant in Texas with at least one year of experience in ER, Urgent Care, or Family Medicine. Graduation from an accredited nursing or PA program is required.
