Black Hills Medical Group has full-time Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse position available in Family Medicine.

This position is responsible for providing professional nursing care for clinic patients following established standards and practices.

Assists physicians and staff in coordinating patient care.

Functions as primary liaison between patients, staff and physicians.

Current nursing license required. Previous clinic experience is not required.

Essential functions

Provides general nursing care to patients. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards. Maintains exam rooms for necessary supplies and materials. Ensures cleanliness. Prepares list of medical supplies needed. Prepares equipment and aids physician during treatment, examination and testing of Observes, records and reports patient's condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to physicians. Dispenses medication as directed. Educates patient/family about diagnostic procedures, medications, nutrition and maintenance of health and Ensures appointment preferences are given to patients in emergency situations. Greets patients and prepares them for physician examination. Screens patients for appropriate information. Instructs patients in collection of samples and tests. Maintains/reviews patient records, charts and other pertinent information. Posts tests and examination results. Responds to/refers incoming patient treatment-related phone calls. Instructs patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions. Maintains patient confidentiality. Performs other duties as assigned.

Environmental/Working conditions

Combination of office and exam settings. Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment.

Physical/Mental

DEMANDS: Varied activities including sitting, walking, stooping, lifting, bending, reaching. Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and to lift 100 pounds. Occasional stress from workload. Must be able to use a variety of office equipment including phone, writing instruments, PC, fax and medical equipment including stethoscope, EKG machine, ear washing equipment, speculums, scales, blood pressure cuff. Requirements

A current nursing license (LPN or RN) is required for this position. Previous clinic experience is not required, but the ability to perform physical tasks and handle medical equipment is necessary.
