Registered veterinary technician: Park Veterinary Hospital | Durham, NC

Schedule: Full-Time (4 x 10-hour shifts with rotating weekends) or Part-Time | Open 7 days/week

Compensation

$26.00-$30.00 per hour, based on experience

Park Veterinary Hospital is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician who has a passion for surgery, anesthesia, and exceptional patient care. As part of our thriving eight-doctor practice, you'll play an integral role in supporting surgical procedures while also providing high-quality nursing care throughout the hospital.

What you'll do: While surgery will be a primary focus, this position offers a well-rounded technician role that includes:

  • Surgical support
  • Prepare patients, instruments, and operating rooms for procedures
  • Assist with anesthetic induction, intubation, monitoring, and recovery
  • Maintain detailed anesthesia records throughout procedures
  • Ensure surgical equipment is cleaned, maintained, and ready for use
  • Support veterinarians during a variety of surgical procedures
  • Patient care & nursing
  • Assist veterinarians with appointments, diagnostics, and treatments
  • Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, laboratory sample collection, and radiographs
  • Monitor hospitalized patients and provide nursing care
  • Assist with urgent care and triage cases as needed
  • Educate clients on medications, post-operative care, and treatment plans
  • Maintain complete and accurate medical records
  • Promote a clean, organized, and efficient treatment area

Qualifications

  • Active Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license in North Carolina
  • Previous clinical veterinary technician experience (1+ years preferred)
  • Experience or strong interest in anesthesia and surgery

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Compassionate approach to patients and clients alike

Requirements

Candidates must hold an active Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license in North Carolina. Previous clinical experience of one or more years and a strong interest or background in surgery and anesthesia are preferred.
