About the role

Overview Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (Travel) in Los Angeles, CA, United States.

This 13-week travel assignment starts 09/14/2026 and offers 36 guaranteed hours per week.

The position follows an evenings schedule (5x8) with a shift of 3:00 PM–11:00 PM.

Work setting is home healthcare – hospice, requiring specialized inpatient-to-home care coordination and patient support.

EPIC experience is required, with the opportunity to contribute to a patient-centered care plan in a community-based hospice context.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group in a hospice home setting, following established standards of care and the nursing process
  • Collect relevant data, assess health status, analyze findings, develop a care plan, implement interventions, and evaluate outcomes
  • Monitor patient responses, administer medications and treatments per plan, and identify potential adverse events
  • Supervise and direct activities of various levels of nursing staff, delegating tasks and coordinating care with the interdisciplinary team
  • Provide patient/family education, participate in discharge planning, and ensure continuity of care across transitions
  • Document care accurately in the EPIC system and communicate changes to the treatment team while maintaining patient safety and privacy

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice (California)
  • BLS certification; ACLS and HLFS certifications are required per policy
  • EPIC EMR experience is required
  • Minimum of two years of recent ER nursing experience
  • BSN degree preferred; nursing education aligned with home healthcare/hospice settings as a plus
  • Ability to work effectively in a home hospice environment and coordinate care across disciplines
