This critical role assists in creating and managing nursing care plans and will participate in the evaluation of current and future medical needs of the patient.

  • You Do: The Clinical Program Coordinator/Nurse Navigator for Mercy Medical Center’s Orthopedic Institute acts as the single point of contact for all patients undergoing joint replacement surgery and other complex orthopedic procedures at MMC. The navigator will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of care from the time a patient is booked for a complex orthopedic procedure, through their hospital stay and the first 90 days after surgery. Provides care based on physician orders and the nursing plan of care, in compliance with policies and procedures, standards of care, and regulatory agency requirements. Utilizes evidence-based practice or research within clinical practice.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. BSN required.

Licensure

Current Licensure as a registered nurse (RN) in Massachusetts.

Certification

CPR certification required. Three (3) to five (5) years’ nursing experience. Knowledge and experience in orthopedic/ arthroplasty surgical patient care preferred.

Requirements

Requires a BSN, current Massachusetts RN licensure, and CPR certification. Candidates should have three to five years of nursing experience, preferably in orthopedic or arthroplasty surgical care.
