  • Description: The Oncology Triage Nurse serves as a key clinical resource supporting both Radiation Oncology and Medical Oncology practices through telephone and electronic (MyChart/in-basket) triage. This role is responsible for responding to patient calls, symptom concerns, treatment-related questions, and electronic inquiries in a timely, efficient, and compassionate manner, ensuring patients receive appropriate guidance and care coordination throughout their oncology journey.

Working closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members, the Oncology Triage Nurse assesses patient needs, prioritizes concerns based on clinical urgency, and facilitates appropriate interventions. Utilizing clinical expertise, critical thinking, and a thorough understanding of provider practice patterns, this clinician independently manages routine patient care needs within established protocols while identifying situations that require provider consultation or escalation. The role is instrumental in promoting patient safety, enhancing the patient experience, and ensuring seamless communication and continuity of care across Radiation and Medical Oncology services.

Position Summary

Registered Nurse, RN works in a collaborative environment to deliver excellent patient care as part of an interdisciplinary team providing evidenced based medicine and individualized patient care. A Registered Nurse, RN is expected to facilitate all aspects of the patient visit experience. What you will need: Graduation from an accredited Nursing school and program Associate degree in nursing required, BSN preferred. In Grand Rapids if ADN must enroll in BSN program within 6 months of hire and complete in 4 years of hire Licensed in the State of Michigan 1 years of experience as an RN required if new grad must apply to RN residency that takes place three times a year in February, July and October Highlights: 1st Shift 8 am -5 pm, Monday – Friday, no weekends, or holidays Located at our Lacks Cancer Center Day 1 benefits, no waiting period! Requirements

Candidates must have an Associate degree in nursing (BSN preferred) and a valid Michigan nursing license. At least one year of RN experience is required, though new graduates may apply via the RN residency program.
