About the role

The Medical Assistant provides direct patient care by gathering medical histories, taking vital signs, and assisting with in-office procedures. Additionally, they manage patient scheduling, sterilize instruments, and perform administrative front-desk duties.

Location

This position is based out of our Illinois Masonic and Oak Brook offices. The Medical Assistant will travel daily between assigned clinic locations based on the physician's patient schedule. Additional local travel to other clinics within the assigned geographic region may be required to support business needs

Reports to: Practice Operations Manager

Position Summary

We are seeking a full-time, Medical Assistant to work alongside the physician and assist with patient care. This includes taking basic vital signs, preparing the room, verifying patient information, assisting with in-office procedures, and scheduling the patient’s next appointment. The Medical Assistant will also help manage the patient's schedule and assist with office duties.

Duties and Responsibilities

Interview patients to gather medical history and update medical records Gather basic vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, height, weight, and pulse Prepare treatment rooms and patients for exam Sterilize instruments and set up in-office procedure trays Manage medical supplies and materials and work with their operational leader to order necessary inventory Take x-rays Perform administrative tasks and become cross-trained on front desk responsibilities to provide support when needed. Other duties are to support the physician and team with patient care activities.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS/ EDUCATION 2 years in a healthcare position desired Experience using electronic health records High school diploma or GED required. Strong verbal and written communication skills Committed to continuous performance improvement Patient-focused with the ability to work independently Capability to adapt quickly and thrive in a fast-paced environment SCHEDULING: Monday: Illinois Masonic | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Tuesday: Oak Brook | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Wednesday: Off (or scheduled as needed) Thursday: Illinois Masonic | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Friday: Oak Brook | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
