About the role

Deliver direct patient care in a Progressive Care Unit, including monitoring vital signs and administering medications. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement care plans and manage patient documentation and discharge planning.

Overview Registered Nurse – PCU (Progressive Care Unit) Travel assignment in Watertown, NY. Start date: August 24, 2026. 13-week contract with 36 guaranteed hours per week.

Shift

12-hour day shifts (7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.), on a 2x3 schedule. Hospital-based setting delivering direct patient care in a critical care-adjacent unit. This is a travel, temporary assignment arranged through Healthforce Healthcare LLC.

  • $2,165 – $2,375 per week
  • Guaranteed hours: 36 hours per week
  • Contract duration: 13 weeks
  • Shift: 12-hour days, 2x3 schedule (7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.)

  • Additional support: fast credentialing and dedicated assignment assistance

Responsibilities

  • Deliver direct patient care to PCU patients, including ongoing assessment, vital signs monitoring, and timely intervention
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, and other treatments as ordered; monitor for adverse reactions
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to develop, implement, and adjust patient care plans; provide patient and family education
  • Document clinical information accurately and maintain thorough handoffs; participate in discharge planning and coordination with case management
  • Recognize and respond to patient condition changes; escalate to appropriate team members as needed
  • May assume duties as charge nurse when assigned and participate in shift leadership effectively

Requirements

  • Current NY RN license
  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
  • Certifications: BLS required; ACLS required; NIH required; PALS preferred
  • Experience: current critical care experience preferred
  • Travel-specific: traveler must have completed at least 1 successful traveler assignment
  • Ability to work in a high-stress hospital setting; strong clinical judgment, leadership, and communication skills
  • Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and on-call as required by the unit
