About the role

The Registered Nurse will provide compassionate care to oncology patients, including administering chemotherapy and monitoring patient responses. They will also form therapeutic relationships and provide essential education and support to patients throughout their treatment.

Work Schedule

A Per Diem Registered Nurse Option III must commit to work a defined period of time for a specific department (Inpatient Unit(s), Clinic(s), or Surgical Services). Option III assignments require at least sixty percent (60%) FTE time commitment and may require a designated schedule commitment.

A Per Diem Option III may be required to work evening, nights, holidays, weekend hours and/or stand-by/on-call hours based on the operational needs of the area.

A minimum of one (1) summer and one (1) winter holiday may be required.

Hours are scheduled following with standard unit-based scheduling practices

Qualifications

  • Graduate of school of nursing Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) Preferred
  • Work Experience
  • 6 months of RN experience Required
  • Relevant Inpatient RN experience Preferred
  • Ambulatory experience Preferred
  • Relevant oncology experience Preferred
  • Chemotherapy experience Preferred
  • Experience with Venous Access Devices (VADs) and IV skills Preferred
  • Licenses & Certifications
  • Registration as a registered nurse in the state where employed or licensure in a state in the licensure compact Upon Hire Required
  • Current CPR/BLS certification Upon Hire Required
  • Certification in specialty area of practice Preferred

Requirements

Candidates must be graduates of an accredited school of nursing and hold a current registered nurse license. A minimum of 6 months of RN experience is required, with preference given to those with oncology or ambulatory care backgrounds.
