Akicita Federal is hiring Hospitalists to deliver high-quality inpatient care for the Phoenix Indian Medical Center (PIMC), serving a federally operated hospital within the Indian Health Service in Phoenix, AZ. You will work alongside a dedicated hospital medicine team, managing a diverse inpatient population across day and night shifts, with no off-site call required. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference for an underserved patient community in a fully supported hospital environment.
Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care including admission workups, daily rounding, and discharge planning for hospitalized patients
Diagnose and manage a broad range of acute and chronic medical conditions in an inpatient setting
Coordinate care transitions with nursing staff, specialists, and ancillary services to ensure continuity and patient safety
Document clinical encounters, orders, and patient progress accurately and in a timely manner within the hospital's electronic health record system
Respond to changes in patient status and lead rapid assessments for deteriorating patients on the inpatient unit
Participate in handoff communications at shift transitions to maintain care continuity across day and night coverage
Collaborate with the Chief of Hospital Medicine and multidisciplinary teams to support quality outcomes and operational goals
