Adventure Dental & Orthodontics in Washington, DC, is currently seeking a Dental Hygienist (part-time) to deliver oral hygiene and appropriate preventive services to dental patients. This position will report to the Operations Manager.

Pay range: $61-$75/hr

Sign on Bonus: $1000

Job Responsibilities

Provide oral health education and appropriate individual counseling for all dental patients

Record patient-hygienist transactions as they occur in the patient’s dental record so that the record accurately and completely reflects the nature of the contact, the condition of the patient, and the care or treatment provided

Drive appointment processing and efficiency by supporting all clinical aspects patient appointment as needed to meet the needs of the patient and keep the hygiene flow moving effectively. This may include, but not limited to taking x-rays, charting, chair turnover, etc.

Maintain instrumentation for dental hygiene treatment by selecting, sterilizing, and sharpening instruments

Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; participating in professional societies

Ensure practice is clean and presentable to patients to include cleaning restrooms, patient lobby, mopping, vacuuming, dusting etc.

Participate in other duties that support the mission of providing high-quality and compassionate dental, vision, and orthodontic services to underserved children

  • Job Qualifications
  • RDH state certification/license
  • Prior pediatric dentistry experience preferred
  • Ability to multi-task and complete tasks correctly and in a timely manner
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Electronic Health Records (EHR) practice management software experience preferred

In addition to the job description, you will be asked to perform other duties that support the business and our mission.

Requirements

Candidates must hold an RDH state certification or license and possess strong interpersonal skills. Prior experience in pediatric dentistry and familiarity with Electronic Health Records software are preferred.
