The Mental Health Worker assists licensed nursing staff in providing direct patient care within the Emergency Center. They are responsible for maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment for patients while working under the direction of a staff nurse.
About This Unit The Emergency Department provides care to all populations, from newborns through geriatrics.

This is a 96-bed Emergency Center averaging approximately 300 patient visits per day.

Completion of Mental health Certificate program, 2 years college with major in Behavioral Science, or 4 years equivalent work experience in a behavioral health setting. Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral science field preferred. 1 year in behavioral setting preferred. BLS and CPI training required Good communication skills. Work well in an unpredictable environment. Must be able to occasionally handle working in a high paced stressful environment/situation
Candidates must have a Mental Health Certificate, two years of college in Behavioral Science, or four years of equivalent work experience. BLS and CPI training are required, and a Bachelor's degree in a behavioral science field is preferred.
