MRI Diagnostic Imaging Assistant Level 2

About the role

The assistant prepares patients for MRI examinations and coordinates the daily flow and activities of the MRI scanner. They are responsible for maintaining patient care standards and managing time-sensitive tasks within the imaging department.

Main function

Prepares for MRI examinations on patients; coordinates patient flow and the activities of the MRI scanner.

Education

High school graduate required, AS preferred. Microsoft Office required. Medical terminology, specifically in MRI, required. CPR certification required.

Experience

2 years at MRI DIA, Level 1 or other equivalent work experience, and experience with direct patient care experience required. Excellent interpersonal, phone etiquette, and computer skills required.

Schedule

Every other weekend, rotating. 8 hours/week

Ability to function under pressure of time demands. Position requires eye-hand and gross body coordination skills; extensive walking. Position requires the ability to concentrate on details in spite of interruptions and attend to tasks for more than 30 minutes at a time. Individuals must be able to understand and relate theories behind several related concepts and remember multiple tasks given over long periods of time.

Requirements

Candidates must have a high school diploma, with an associate degree preferred, and at least two years of relevant MRI experience. Required certifications include CPR, along with proficiency in medical terminology and Microsoft Office software.
