The Home Health Aide is responsible for providing personal care and services to hospice patients to augment the care provided by family members or other caregivers. This role is vital to the hospice mission, requiring professionalism and teamwork in fulfilling duties.
The role requires training as a Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide non-exempt personal care services to hospice patients. Employees must commit to professionalism, collaboration, and continuous growth while serving with compassion.
The VITAS Home Health Aide (HHA) is a non-exempt employee, who is trained to provide personal care and services to hospice patients to augment care given by family members or other caregivers.
Salary Range: $18-$23/ Hour assigned job responsibilities
High School graduate or equivalent preferred. Meets personnel qualifications of a Home Health Aide as specified in 42 C.F.R. Section 484.4 and Section 484.36. Documented evidence of 75 hours of training as specified in 42 C.F.R. Sections 484.36 (a)(1). Documented evidence that Home Health Aide has successfully completed a Competency Evaluation program as described in 42 C.F.R. Section 484.36(b). Home Health Aide (HHA) has the ability to travel per job requirements. Home Health Aide (HHA) has a telephone available in home. DIRECTION RECEIVED Home Health Aide (HHA) reports directly to the VITAS Nurse. Home Health Aide (HHA) receives clinical direction from the VITAS Nurse.
