The Pharmacy Technician 2 assists pharmacists in retrieving, processing, preparing, and distributing medications for patient administration, functioning in all drug distribution aspects that do not require pharmacist judgment. Responsibilities vary by setting, including accurate preparation of sterile and non-sterile products, timely delivery, inventory maintenance, and potentially processing prescriptions or supporting medication history collection.
Candidates must possess a High School Equivalent or GED and be a graduate of an accredited pharmacy technician program is preferred. Required proficiency includes understanding the metric system, basic math, good communication skills, and knowledge of basic computer systems, alongside holding a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification and a State of Ohio CPhT license.

(Preferred) Work Experience Prior experience as a pharmacy technician in a hospital or community setting. (Preferred) Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Understanding of metric system and basic math concepts. (Required proficiency) Good communication skills are essential. (Required proficiency) Knowledge of personal computer, calculator, facsimile machine. (Required proficiency) Basic knowledge of pharmacy computer systems and automated dispensing cabinets.
