Position Overview

• We are looking for community-based in-home Mental Health Workers and Mental Health Professionals (counselors) for the Community Based Program.
• The applicant must be bilingual in Spanish, Somali, or Napali.
• The applicant will be tested to confirm proficiency in one of the aforementioned languages.
• George Junior Republic Preventative Aftercare is committed to assisting youth and families in establishing safety, permanency, stability and well-being.
• The Counselor in this distinct, community-based position will provide services and trauma informed care to a caseload of seven to ten youth and families in need of counseling for mental health and/or behavioral health and are referred throughout the county by Children & Youth Services and/or Juvenile Probation.
• The counselor will provide services within the community, schools and homes.
• The counselor will utilize evidence based practices and various treatment modalities to engage youth and families.
• Collaboration with schools, mental health agencies, substance abuse services, public assistance programs and other community support organizations is a priority for this position.

Requirements

• *At this time, we are seeking candidates bilingual in English and either Spanish or Somali.
• Mental Health Worker (counselor): Bachelor's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field REQUIRED. A minimum of two years' experience in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field PREFERRED but not required.
• Mental Health Professional (counselor): Master's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field. A minimum of two years' experience in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field PREFERRED but not required.
• Professional licensure preferred, but not required.
• Must live in/near the county
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation
• Must be able to work a non-traditional schedule
