The Dentist will participate in implementing a community-oriented dental program by providing general dental care across educative, preventive, curative, and rehabilitative areas. This role also involves supervising the day-to-day activities of dental hygienists and EFDAs at sites lacking regular Dental Director availability, in collaboration with the Dental Clinic Manager.
Candidates must have graduated from an accredited school of dentistry with a DDS or DMD degree and possess a current, full, and unrestricted New Mexico dental license, or obtain endorsement if licensed elsewhere. Required certifications include Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR, along with passing a TST test and having a Hep B vaccine or waiver.
The Dentist, participates in the implementation of a community-oriented dental program, by providing general dental care in the educative, preventive, curative, and rehabilitative areas. At sites where the Dental Director is not available on a regular basis or on a continuous basis the Dentist at that site will supervise the day-to-day activities of the dental hygienist, EFDA (Expanded Function Dental Auxiliary's) if any present at the clinic in which the provider is providing dental treatment in as pursuant to the "New Mexico Board of Dental Health Care, Statutes, Rules and Regulations. The Dental Assistants will be supervised in collaboration with the Dental Clinic Manager.
