The Orthopedic Technician will provide direct patient care by applying and adjusting fiberglass casts, splints, and orthopedic traction equipment as ordered by physicians. This role also involves educating patients on proper care for casts, splints, and Durable Medical Equipment (DME), while managing clinic inventory and administrative tasks.
A high school diploma or GED is required, though completion of a Sports Medicine, Orthopedic Technician, or Medical Assistant program is preferred. A minimum of one year of relevant experience in a medical facility is preferred, along with strong organizational skills and proficiency in inventory management.
