The Emergency Department Tech collaborates with registered nurses to provide direct patient care, including collecting clinical data, performing EKGs, monitoring patients, and assisting with therapeutic tasks like lifting and feeding. Responsibilities also involve specimen collection, performing basic nursing procedures, maintaining supply readiness, and cleaning treatment areas.
A high school diploma is required, along with prior experience in a comparable position or holding an EMTB certification, and current CPR Certification is mandatory. Candidates must demonstrate basic competencies and pass a cognitive exam after orientation, with hospital experience and a CNL certificate being preferred.

The Emergency Department Tech works as a team member with other ancillary personnel under the direction of the registered professional nurse to meet care needs for a specified population of patients.
