The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner will function as a primary care provider, initiating assessment, diagnosis, and implementing treatment plans for pediatric patients within their scope of practice. Key duties include providing comprehensive primary care services, coordinating patient transfers, collaborating with clinical teams, and performing necessary administrative tasks.
Candidates must possess a Master of Science in Nursing and hold an active NP license in the District of Columbia and Maryland, along with being Board Certified/Board Eligible. A minimum of three years of clinical nursing experience is strongly preferred, as is experience in community health settings or working with underserved populations.
Working in collaboration with the other members of the clinical team, the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner will function as a primary care pediatric provider at Mary’s Center. They will initiate assessment, diagnosis, and the implementation of a range of care interventions and treatment plans for patients presenting with undifferentiated and undiagnosed health conditions that are within their scope of practice.
The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner reports to the Administrative Medical Director and will work collaboratively with the Pediatric Clinical Lead. Annually, the clinician is evaluated on clinical competency by the Administrative Medical Director or their proxies (Associate Medical Director or Clinical Lead).

Physical Demands – Regularly required to sit; frequently required to reach with hands and arms; required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk or hear; must be able to lift objects up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
Work Environment – Mostly in a typical clinical office setting with quiet to moderate noise level; a percentage of clinical care may be provided remotely depending on scheduling needs. May be exposed to potentially hazardous blood-borne/respiratory pathogens and bodily fluids which require the practice of Universal Precaution procedures.
