The role involves the performance, scoring, and analysis of Polysomnograms, Multiple Sleep Latency Tests, and Maintenance of Wakefulness Tests, alongside assisting with policy development and training of new staff. Responsibilities also include communicating with physicians, teaching PAP classes, and managing workload assignments and end-of-shift reports.
Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or GED and have completed an accredited educational program by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. Required credentials include passing the national certifying examination by the BRPT for the RPSGT credential and holding a New Mexico Polysomnography license, along with current BLS certification.
