The Registered Respiratory Therapist sets up and operates diagnostic and treatment equipment, administers respiratory gases and medications, and responds to hospital emergencies. They also analyze blood gases, educate patients on home equipment use, and assist with mechanically ventilated patient transport.
Candidates must be capable of performing various respiratory treatments, taking physician orders, and acting as a resource for other hospital staff regarding respiratory procedures. A minimum of one year of experience is preferred, along with an Associate Degree and required Oklahoma RT License and BLS certification.
