The CT Technologist operates CT equipment to perform various imaging procedures, ensuring high-quality diagnostic images, and is responsible for preparing patients, including positioning and administering contrast agents as needed. Key duties also involve utilizing PACS/RIS systems, adhering to radiation safety principles, and conducting routine quality assurance testing on scanners.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited Radiologic Technology program and hold ARRT (R.T.) registration, along with New York State Department of Health licensure that includes certification to inject IV contrast, and current BLS certification. A minimum of 1 year of CT experience is required, with preference given to those with GE CT experience.
CT Technologist Locations: Manhattan, NY Hours/Days: 4/10 hour days, Mon,Tue,Thu,&Fri 7:30am-5:30pm Organization: NY Imaging Specialists (NYI) Key Responsibilities As a CT Technologist at NYI, you will be responsible for: Performing CT Imaging Procedures: Operate CT equipment and perform a wide range of imaging procedures to produce high-quality diagnostic images that assist in accurate medical evaluations. Preparing Patients: Explain CT procedures, position patients correctly, and administer contrast agents as required to ensure accurate imaging and patient comfort. Utilizing Imaging Systems: Demonstrate proficiency with PACS and RIS systems to manage, store, and review images effectively. Ensuring Safety & Expertise: Apply radiation safety principles, demonstrate expertise in cross-sectional anatomy, and manage contrast administration in accordance with established protocols. Quality Assurance: Conduct routine QA testing on CT scanners and maintain QA manuals to ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational standards. Maintaining Confidentiality: Adhere to HIPAA guidelines and organizational policies to protect patient information at all times. Work Environment: Maintain a clean, organized work area and ensure all equipment is properly maintained. Order necessary supplies when required. Independent Problem Solving: Work effectively with minimal supervision, demonstrating the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical or procedural issues.
