The Occupational Therapist is responsible for evaluating patients and providing overall Occupational Therapy services, including sensorimotor rehabilitation, activities for daily living training, and range of motion exercises. This involves participating in treatment using physical agents, assessing patient function, determining therapeutic goals, and communicating procedures to patients and staff.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree and one to three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination, and must be a graduate of an American Occupational Therapy Association accredited school with NYS License/Certification. Essential abilities include strong communication skills, basic to intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office and EMR software, and the physical capacity to lift up to 50 pounds and perform various physical tasks.

Necessary Skills & Abilities Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic to intermediate knowledge of Microsoft office software (Outlook, Excel, Word), as well as Practice Management and Electronic Medical Record software. 7.
