Performs patient safety and mobility activities under the supervision of licensed therapists or nurses in an acute care setting. Responsible for the safe transportation of patients and documenting transport functions via the Command Center.
Requires a high school diploma or GED and current BLS certification. Candidates must complete a specific Mobility Tech competency and on-the-job training program.
High School graduate or GED required. Satisfactory completion of Mobility Tech Competency within 90 day Introductory Evaluation. Must satisfactorily complete Rehab services on-the-job training program. Current BLS certifications through any International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses such as but not limited to: Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, and American Red Cross. The ILCOR course must include a manikin check off. Complete understanding of AIDET and CARES, as well as HIPPA standards. Working knowledge of EPIC, ROVER and Outlook software. Understanding and compliance with proper and safe body mechanics.
Hospital and/or patient care experience preferred, as well as current or future pursuit of medical licensure in any field applicable to an acute care setting. Excel and Word processing skills preferred. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 20 pounds is required.
