EMTs are accountable for responding to all assigned calls efficiently and providing high standards of patient care. They work with a Paramedic on an MICU ambulance and contribute to patient assessment, triage, packaging, and transport.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and Texas DSHS certification as an EMT. They must also maintain all required certifications and possess a current Texas motor vehicle operator’s license.
EMTs are accountable for responding to all assigned calls in the most appropriate, efficient manner and providing the highest standards of patient care while keeping a safe and hazard-free environment. The EMT works with a Paramedic on an MICU ambulance and contributes to overall patient care in the areas of patient assessment, triage, packaging and transport according to protocol. There are occasions in which the EMT may work with another EMT on a BLS unit within the system.
