The Sonographer is responsible for performing diagnostic medical ultrasound exams independently while maintaining patient workflow and equipment quality. They must ensure accurate image capture, complete structured reporting, and collaborate effectively with the healthcare team.
Candidates must have completed an accredited Sonography program and hold or be eligible for RDMS or RVT certification. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required upon hire, along with basic computer and clinical equipment proficiency.
Completion of an accredited program in a school of Sonography (Required) Work Experience less than 1 year New graduates from an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program (Preferred) Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Knowledge of sterile technique and surgical procedures (Preferred proficiency) Basic computer knowledge. (Required proficiency) Knowledge of various types of ultrasound equipment. (Required proficiency) Basic knowledge of oxygen tanks, suction machines and IVAC pumps.
