The Surgical Technician is responsible for maintaining a sterile surgical field and efficiently passing instruments to surgeons during cardiovascular and thoracic procedures. They also assist in stocking specialty supplies, managing surgical specimens, and providing technical training and precepting for perioperative personnel.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and have completed a Surgical Technology training program or equivalent military training. A minimum of four years of surgical tech experience is required, or two years of experience combined with a CST or Tech in Surgery certification.
