The technician is responsible for the accurate preparation of sterile hazardous and non-hazardous medications using aseptic techniques within the Infusion Center. They also manage drug inventory, ensure compliance with safety standards, and monitor the sterile environment for regulatory adherence.
Candidates must hold a high school diploma or GED and possess a current National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) along with Ohio Board of Pharmacy registration. At least 1-2 years of pharmacy technician experience is required, with preference given to those with sterile compounding experience.

This role will primarily float between Ambulatory Infusion locations, including Good Samaritan Hospital, Western Ridge, and Kenwood. Associate or bachelor's Degree (Preferred) 1 - 2 years Previous Pharmacy Technician experience required (Required). 3 - 4 years Sterile compounding experience preferred. (Preferred) Experience compounding sterile chemotherapy and hazardous products. National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT). Approved certification is through Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) OR ExCPT Certification by the National Healthcareer Association is required. PTCB Compounded Sterile Preparation Technician (CSPT) Certification is preferred Required to be registered with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy as a Certified Pharmacy Technician. Job Overview: An Advanced Pharmacy Technician - Ambulatory Infusion plays an essential role in the medication use process in our TriHealth Infusion Center Pharmacies. The technician assists pharmacists in providing safe, accurate, and timely medication distribution and pharmaceutical care within the Infusion Centers. The Advanced Pharmacy Technician is responsible for the preparation of sterile compounds, including chemotherapy/hazardous medications, drug and supply inventory control, and continuous monitoring the sterile compounding area for compliance, providing timely remediation, alerting leadership to any identified issues. This position requires a proactive approach to maintaining high standards of pharmaceutical care, compliance with regulations and standards (USP 797, 800, NIOSH), as well as a commitment to quality care and patient safety.
