The Ophthalmic Technician will provide specialized pediatric eye care within a hospital setting. They are responsible for communicating effectively with patients, families, and staff while ensuring appropriate care based on patient growth and development.
Candidates must possess a High School diploma and a COA certification from JCAHPO. Basic life support certification is required, and prior pediatric experience is strongly preferred.
1. High School diploma required. Associates degree preferred. 2. Certification as an Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) JCAHPO is required. 3. Certification as an Ophthalmic Technician by JCAHPO is preferred. 4. Basic life support certification is required. 5. Prior pediatric experience strongly preferred. 6. Ability to effectively communicate with hospital & staff, patients, and families. 7. Knowledge of growth and development of infants, children, adolescent, adults and elderly patients in order to provide appropriate care.
