Perform accurate CT examinations using advanced medical technology while ensuring compliance with ACR standards and ALARA principles. Manage patient history, prepare patients for procedures, and maintain department safety and equipment protocols.
Requires graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technologist program and a Montana State Radiologic Technologist License. Must hold ARRT certification as a Radiologic Technologist and obtain CT certification within 18 months of hire.
Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program required. Montana State Radiologic Technologist License as required by law. Registered as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) required. Current BLS CPR certification required. Registered in Computed Tomography (CT) by ARRT preferred or must be successfully obtained within eighteen (18) months of hire. Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently. Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed. Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy. Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed. Job Specific Duties: Accurately performs appropriate CT examination as defined by department protocols. Ensures accurate techniques are utilized in accordance with ACR standards and ALARA. Accurately performs beginning and end of day duties as defined in department procedures. Responsible for stocking assigned area(s) and assists with supply outdates. Exhibits proper radiation and/or magnet safety as appropriate to assigned area(s). Accurately reports all malfunctioning equipment and/or errors per department protocol. Documents safety related issues and outcomes. Obtains patient history, reason for procedure, and other exam related information. Evaluates information to ensure appropriate scan to ensure proper diagnosis. Communicates any questions or concerns per department protocol. Responsible for patient preparation related to the exam. Exhibits proper venipuncture techniques, and I-stat competencies, etc. Provides the patient with follow-up, exam information and post exam procedures as applicable to assigned area(s). Responsible for reviewing orders, prior exams, labs, and patient history per department standards. Accurately completes appropriate documentation related to exam.
