The Case Associate assists social workers by supervising family visits, transporting children, and conducting home and school visits. They are also responsible for documenting all activities in an electronic case record database.
A Bachelor's degree is required, with a BSW preferred. Candidates should have prior experience working with families in a child welfare setting and possess excellent communication skills.
Supervise family visits in the office, in the community, and virtually, acting as a visiting coach promoting quality family time and ensuring safety. Transport children as needed. Conduct foster home visits, visits to birth homes and other field visits. Assist social workers with necessary phone contacts to arrange appointments to make referrals for concrete services. Accompany and advocate for parents at appointments for public benefits, housing, and other necessary services. Visit schools to discuss educational progress of children with teachers and other school personnel. Provide other assistance, as might reasonably be required, to support case management and permanency efforts for families with children in foster care. Document all work activities within prescribed timeframes in the electronic case record.
