The Resident Medication Assistant is responsible for assisting residents with the self-administration of medications and providing direct personal care services. They also monitor resident health, maintain organized living areas, and support daily activities according to individual care plans.
Candidates should have a high school diploma or G.E.D. and must complete 8 hours of approved medication administration training. Previous experience in long-term care or assisted living is preferred, along with current first aid and CPR certification.

The primary purpose of the Resident Medication Assistant (RMA) position is to assist residents with the self-administration of medications as ordered by the primary physician, under the direction and supervision of the Resident Care Coordinator, Memory Care Coordinator, Wellness Nurse, or Executive Director. The administration of medications shall be in accordance with established residential care standards, policies, procedures and practices of this community and required by RCFE rules and regulations.
Starting pay ranges from $ 23.00 per hour-$ 27.31 per hour. Factors such as scope, responsibilities, experience, education, job-related skills, internal equity, and market considerations may influence base pay.
