Provide acute and critical respiratory care to patients of all age groups using clinical and technological knowledge. Participate in code blue and rapid response teams while educating patients, families, and other healthcare providers.
Requires a degree in Respiratory Care Science and a valid New York State license. Must hold RRT credentials and BCLS certification, with preferred experience in hospital critical care.
The Registered, New York State Licensed, Respiratory Therapist provides acute and critical respiratory care to all age groups, utilizing sound clinical and technological knowledge. The respiratory care includes acquisition and interpretation of physiological parameters and application of respiratory technology toward the resolution of respiratory diseases. The Respiratory Therapists are part of "code blue" and "rapid response" teams. The practice also involves teaching of patient and family members, students and other health care providers.
