The PCU RN assesses, plans, and implements nursing care for patients while supervising PCTs and supportive staff. They coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to manage patient education and active discharge planning.
Candidates must be a graduate of an approved nursing school with a current Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a compact state. A minimum of 2 years of acute care experience and BLS/CPR certification are required.
$10,000 sign-on bonus for full time day shift. Competitive 2nd and 3rd shift differentials.
Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates the nursing care of all patients in the Patient Care Unit. Responsible for ensuring safe and efficient care by providing direct hands-on care and supervising the care given by PCTs and supportive staff members. Participates in patient and family education, coordinates care planning with other members of the interdisciplinary team, anticipates discharge needs and participates in active discharge planning, maintains their role as a patient advocate with a focus on the hospital’s mission, demonstrates ethical and appropriate behavior, adherence to all policies and procedures, maintains all educational requirements, and follows the Nurse Practice Act.
Keep all required education/certifications up to date Demonstrate teamwork, peer-to-peer accountability, independent problem solving, critical thinking, time management, and appropriate clinical prioritization Document and practice according to facility policy, meeting current documentation standards, metric, and quality expectations as detailed by department manager in the delivery of quality care Elevate concerns to charge nurse or nurse manager as appropriate, reporting problems through the chain of command
Education: Graduate of an approved school of nursing Current/unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the State of North Carolina or another compact state BLS/ CPR certification required All education/certification requirements are kept up to date as a responsibility of the employee Necessary Skills: At least 2 years of nursing experience in the acute care/inpatient hospital setting Must complete the required education for the Hip & Knee Replacement (HKRPC) as required per policy
