Outpatient Family Practice Physician

The Outpatient Family Practice Provider will deliver comprehensive medical care in a full-time walk-in clinic setting at the IHS facility in Ogema, Minnesota. The provider will evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with a wide range of acute and chronic conditions. The clinic operates with two providers seeing an average combined volume of 12 patients per day, ensuring a manageable workload and collaborative clinical environment.

The provider will evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with a wide range of acute and chronic conditions. The clinic operates with two providers seeing an average combined volume of 12 patients per day, ensuring a manageable workload and collaborative clinical environment. Work Schedule & Patient Volume Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 PM – 4:30 PM Clinic Type: Outpatient Walk-In Average Patient Volume: -20–30 patients per day total
• Shared between two providers Key Responsibilities
• Provide direct outpatient medical care to walk-in patients of all ages
• Perform medical histories, physical exams, assessments, and diagnoses
• Treat acute illnesses, manage chronic conditions, and provide follow-up care
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, labs, and imaging
• Prescribe medications in accordance with federal, state, and IHS guidelines
• Document all patient encounters accurately in the electronic health record (EHR)
• Collaborate with nursing staff, behavioral health, pharmacy, and specialty services
• Provide patient education, preventive care guidance, and referrals as appropriate
• Comply with all IHS policies, federal regulations, and clinical protocols
• Maintain professional standards, cultural sensitivity, and patient confidentiality Required Qualifications Education:
• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• OR Nurse Practitioner (NP) / Physician Assistant (PA) from an accredited program Licensure:
• Current, unrestricted license in any U.S. state, territory, or D.C.
• Must be eligible for licensure in Minnesota Experience:
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in outpatient, primary care, or urgent/walk-in care settings preferred
• Experience in rural, tribal, or underserved communities strongly preferred Certifications:
• Current BLS (required)
• ACLS (preferred)
• DEA registration (or eligibility to obtain) \n
