The role involves delivering direct patient care, including preparation, vital sign collection, documentation, and assisting providers with various procedures and diagnostic equipment. Responsibilities also include administrative tasks such as scheduling, coordinating physician schedules, and ensuring proper documentation and follow-up.
Candidates must successfully complete a medical assistant program accredited by CAAHP or ABHES and obtain one of several specified Medical Assistant certifications within one year of hire. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and proof of mandatory reporter abuse training must be obtained within three months of hire, alongside proficiency in basic computer skills.
